Slots at Woodbine Workers need your Support

Our Sisters and Brothers who work for the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) Slots at Woodbine in Toronto will be in a legal strike/lock-out position on Monday, May 27, 2013 at 12:01 am.

The OLG is one of the largest and wealthiest employers in Ontario, yet it has asked workers to take a wage freeze while they pay out bonuses to Executives and Management.

With the pending privatization of the Slots at Woodbine Racetrack by 2014 workers are looking for more job security during this transition, which the OLG is denying.

The OLG is also denying part-time workers any work-life balance, as they are expected to be on call with 48 hours notice.

We are asking members to take a minute to send an email through this online action to the Premier of Ontario and Finance Minister, as well as Toronto City Councillors to pressure the OLG to negotiate a fair agreement with their workers:

Let’s all stand in solidarity with our 420 PSAC members at Woodbine and send a clear message to the OLG that workers deserve respect!

In Solidarity,

Sharon DeSousa, Regional Executive Vice-President - Ontario
Public Service Alliance of Canada
