Online Action to Support Woodbine Workers

Greetings Sisters and Brothers,

PSAC has a potential strike/lock-out date of Monday, May 27, 2013 at the OLG Slots at Woodbine and I have attached a link with the details below.

The OLG has engaged in an extremely cruel act towards its workers by denying the PSAC's request to pay for the benefits of striking members so they would have access to them during a strike or lock-out, including short and long term disability and prescription drugs.

PSAC takes the position that the OLG should come back to the table and bargain the issues workers have identified as a priority.

Both the tentative agreement and employer's final offer were rejected because workers want a collective agreement that provides job security, work life balance (which does not include being on call 24/7 for the OLG), and improved compensation.

PSAC members are asking for the same necessities that OLG provides to their Executives and Managers. Front line workers make the patrons experiences a success and contribute to the generation of the second most revenues for the Provincial Government.

It's time the OLG treated its workers with respect and dignity, please send the Premier and the OLG this message through our online action: http://ontario.psac.com/woodbine-email-ontario-premier

I ask you to please share this link and help pressure this employer to act responsibly.

In Solidarity,

Sharon DeSousa,
PSAC Regional Executive Vice-President - Ontario
