Sister Lauren Dart wins OSSTF/FEESO Faculty of Education Award

Sister Lauren Dart who is presently on leave doing her teacher training has just won the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation Faculty of Education Award.

Valued at $1,000 annually, it is awarded to the graduating Intermediate/Senior Teacher Candidate who applies for the award and who in the opinion of his/her Faculty of Education’s Awards Committee has shown a clear understanding and empathy for the values of unionism.

The Teacher Candidate selected for the OSSTF/FEESO Faculty of Education Award
  1. is an advocate for unionism and related values.
  2. has demonstrated political or social activism that promotes the professional nature of teaching.
  3. has shown leadership by supporting and advocating for fellow Teacher Candidates.
  4. has shown leadership in organization of events which benefit fellow Teacher Candidates.
  5. has demonstrated a high degree of professional competence.
  6. is attempting to secure a teaching position that would make her or him an OSSTF/FEESO member.
Sister Dart will receive her award on April 23.
