Public Service Week does not make up for years of cuts to services and jobs
After years of service cuts, job cuts and disrespect for hard working public servants, the federal government will hold National Public Service Week from June 15 to 21, 2014, to mark the importance of federal public service employees and to recognize their service to Canadian society.

It is an insult to our members that the government of Canada, as the employer, celebrates this event while it continues its assault on federal public services and public service workers.

The PSAC is boycotting National Public Service Week and will be organizing events across the country to celebrate the work our members do to serve Canadians.

June 19 Action - Members National Public Service Week

Greetings Sisters and Brothers,

PSAC has endorsed all Locals boycott their Employers National Public Service Week events and instead hold their own member appreciation activities to demonstrate our solidarity against the cuts and our support for our bargaining teams.

June 19 will be a key date in those demonstrations, with Locals across the country using this day as a National demonstration.

Activities could include members wearing arm bands, or dressing in black to create a visual statement. Please take photos and send them to
psac_toronto_mail@psac.com
so we can highlight them on our PSAC Ontario Facebook.

Lunch time walkouts are also encouraged, as a show of solidarity to management.

Please contact your closest PSAC Regional office for assistance in planning your Local's events and let's make National Public Service Week ours once again.

In Solidarity,

Sharon DeSousa,
PSAC Regional Executive Vice-President - Ontario
